Peru Team Update: Day 7

Our team woke early again and headed to the first of two privet Christian schools. We led worship for over 100 students in high school. We also did our chicken skit which they enjoyed. After the skit our translator Bruno presented the gospel to those in the school. We then sang some more songs before we finished. Before the students were dismissed the one of the principles told the students that the gospel had been presented to them and they had no excuse and say they have not heard it. We then ran across camps to do a puppet show for the kindergarten students. Our team was in shock as the fifty or so students walked in silently and in a single file line. Our worship team did one song before we started the puppets. We then went to another school where we had another service for the students around high school age. Our worship team did a great job leading worship and then Evan taught.

The last stop we had before we headed to the airport was the orphanage. It was a great way to end our trip. We started with a tour of the facility and the intern gave us more background on the orphanage and the children there. Our worship team started out with a few songs in Spanish and then a few in English. Then a few games were played with the older kids while some of the girls took care of the younger ones. Evan taught once more after the worship team sang another song to calm down the kids. After our service we handed out candy, toothpaste, and toothbrushes to the kids and left the extras with the leaders of the orphanage.

The orphanage was the best way to end our trip. The team finial made it home Saturday night around 9:30 after some delayed flights and missed connections. God had his hand on our team while we were traveling and he showed our team that he is sovereign over the airlines. Thank you for praying for us while we were there in Peru. Please continue to pray for Peru, for those we were in contact with, for the churches and pastors we worked with, and for us. Pray that God will continue to work and move in their hearts and in ours. Pray that God will provide in unexpected ways for the believers in Peru. Pray that God will call more people in Peru to him self and to the harvest because the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
